Belper occurs as town within Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England.

These are eight miles northward of Derby, on the River Derwent, and has a people of 20,000. As the comparatively settlement, it contains the little searching metropolitan area as much as King Street, many grade school & a lycee. There is a big Morrisons store by the side of the A6. Belper railway station is situated on the Midland Main Line, and is primarily served by local trains on the Derby-Matlock service.

A town's title is probably the corruption of the title Beaurepair (beautiful location), a title from Edmund Crouchback, son of Henry III of England, to his country seat in the 13th century. Inside 1820 Belper was the number one place in the UK to get gas lighting. Belper manufactured international news around 2001 after rejecting the gift of a big fibreglass Mr. Potato Head model from its twinned town – Pawtucket, Rhode Island – as residents considered it was "ugly".
